The charm might be enough to pull you in...although I was very disappointed about an hour in. It looks and sounds GREAT! But the game just wasn't well thought out, it doesn't flow like Hotel Dusk or Professor Layton. It's totally playable and has a memorable design. If you can find it used, go for it.
