Is it dangerous where you live?

It's only dangerous where I live because I live there.

Where I live specifically, no.

This area is very secluded and people keep to themselves.

The nearby city (Augusta, the capital) has a bit of a crummy reputation, but it's not particularly dangerous. The crime is mostly of the "white trash" variety - small time drug use and thievery, fights, etc.

I don't think I've ever been anywhere in Maine where I was actually fearful for my life.

I do want to get a firearm for protection though.

It can be dangerous where I live. We have electical outlets, power tools, and a whole drawer full of knives. All of those things can hurt you. Moreover, we have a bath tub, and someone could drown in that. There are also some plastic bags, and if you aren't careful with those, you could suffocate. Finally, there is also a lot of furniture, and if you trip, you could bump your head and end up needing stitches. To our credit, however, we don't have any stairs; so, you don't need to worry about falling down those.

Checks Maine's carry laws on NRAs site. In Texas we can keep them concealed in the car. Considered part of the castle of your estate. Been pulled over 2 times for speeding with a 9mm in my center console. Cop tells me to step out while he runs the plates, never asks to see weapon.

Part of that is the culture here in Texas & also the fact we don't have to register handguns.

Regardless, if I get a flat tire in the bad part of town I'll feel a lot better while waiting on assistance.

What are the concealed carry laws in Maine? I'm pretty much the only one in the family who doesn't have one here. We go somewhere where the guns can't be taken in, and suddenly there's two .45s and a Derringer that shoots .410s in the console.
