S video is not RGB. S vid is a nice upgrade over composite but it isn't RGB over SCART.Kaneda wrote:Yea but the states had S-video on most tv's so it's basically the same as scart.
And the official colour/color named by Nintendo for the US SNES controllers is lavender.
Also, s vid was NOT widespread in 1991. It was only on high end monitors. I had only laid eyes on it once by 1995. My uncle had a nice Sony projection big screen TV & a high end laser disc player with S vid output. He was an AV nut.
My family didn't get a TV with S vid until 2000. I personally didn't get one until 2005. My TV before that (got it in roughly '93) didn't even have composite! RF only.
A lot of gamers first experience with S video was the Dreamcast as it started becoming common place among most TV sets. I've heard a few ppl state that. That makes the DC VGA output that much more ahead of its time!
