Dunno if anyone else saw but Nintendo has announced a Direct will be streamed Tuesday the 8th that will be focused on the 2 games. You can see more details here:

They usually don't announce Directs that far in advance so I wonder what they have in store for us. Guess we'll have to find out.

I think they're really counting on this one to move WiiU units. Hopefully it does well. Going to wait, read reviews & pick up the 3DS version if it turns out well.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct
For the record, both times before where they have had a single game focused Direct they have announced a release date roughly two or so months after the Direct. Take that for what you will. That would put Smash right around E3.
Older. Not wiser.

I don't see there being any way this game comes out that soon. August at the absolute earliest but I'd say October if I had to guess.. Would love to be wrong though.

Why not? They've been working on it since 2011 so 3 years should be plenty of time. Plus they seem almost done to me.
Anyway looking forward to this (fingers crossed for an amazing new character release, my bet's on Chrom, and maaybe Shulk).

I'm not saying it's impossible, I just figure they'll have that positioned as the big fall game. That is, unless the new mainline Zelda game will fill that void? I dunno.
Shulk, Professor Layton, Bayo or Wonder-Red would all be cool to see. I figure Pac-Man seems very probable given his historical significance to games and well, Namco is developing.

Layton sounds too much like something that makes sense in fan's minds but will never happen. Maybe we will see Pac-Man, who knows. But I feel we are pretty much finished with the 3rd party characters. Also there was a new Pac-Man game released this year and they would have probably announced him when the game came out, like DK, Sonic ect.
I had to google Wonder-Red, and even after googling I couldn't find any character called Bayo. Help on that one please?

I bet he's referring to Bayonetta.
