NTSC PS2 Game w/French Manual?

Post by Jagosaurus »

So recently I picked up Van Helsing on PS2 from a US ebay seller. Game came with 2 manuals, one in French, one in English. Box art is in English. The French manual is bigger. Both in color.

Did I pick up a Canadian copy & is this pretty common practice for our northern brethren gamers ;)?

Works fine obviously as it's a NTSC region. Just a cool conversation piece.

It's somewhat common in Canada for the dual language manuals, though it's likely you have a copy of the game from either New Brunswick or Quebec (NB is the only officially bilingual province and QB is extremely french).

Yeah, games (and all products) are required by law to have bilingual packaging (not sure if that's a nation-wide law or provincial in Ontario where I am). Any new game you buy here will be sealed the same way it is in the States, then have the French manual attached to the back and resealed again overtop.

Got it, thanks. That's cool, didn't know it was required. Pretty cool a Canadian game found its way to Texas :)

Makes sense why it was larger, if it was shrink wrapped to the game case. Was wondering why box art was all English.

Only multilingual piece in my collection, except for the Jaguar stuff which was all region free & everything was in three languages (even on back on box).

It's Nationwide. I always throw the French manual away.
