Saturn horizontal lines

After playing Panzer Dragoon Saga for a few hours I turn off the Saturn then turn it back on to check some settings and the picture shows these white horizontal lines. I've looked up and people have said this could be caused by overheating. How serious of an issue is this and is there some sort of external fan i could buy to put next to the Saturn's vents?

Try cleaning the male pins on the video cable & female end on the console with alcohol. I've heard of that helping this issue.
