I just looked through both the RE2 and CV manual and apparently she's just a college student, though we can assume that her experience surviving those two games has made her into a badass. This is actually a good opportunity for Capcom to expand on her background a little bit, even though it isn't exactly necessary.
It's just kind of funny how she's a main character in the series yet always on the sidelines and typically searching for Chris. When... especially at this point in the story, Chris is pretty high rank and even if he's getting shipped off to missions, can't the guy take a break or use some contacts to let the poor gal know he's fine?
I forget what their meeting was like in CV, but yeah. I still think 75% of her story in the series has been "looking for Chris" even outside of RE2, like she's completely alone in the world.
Same for Jill and Chris I guess. Despite them finally meeting up from time to time, they are often searching for one another. It's hard to stay together I guess.
Like I mentioned earlier, one thing I can give RE6 is that I don't think it sabotaged the characters or anything. So I'm still interested to see where things go with them. But on the other hand, it's funny to wonder where Mikami might have taken things from RE5 and on. The only plot point I dislike in RE5 is the whole mind control Jill thing, then when you meet with her she just kind of disappears (and that DLC was awful) which seems odd. Other than that though it seems consistent enough story wise...
Anyways yeah, just like Megaman X, I take my Capcom cheese very seriously!
