Nintendo Announces 2DS....thoughts?

Getting it myself. I already have a 3DS XL. I get a Game Boy Micro vibe from it. As stupid as that sounds that is pretty much the sole reason for my purchase.

The micro wasn't released alongside the biggest Pokemon game in a long time, so I don't think will be anywhere near as rare.


I still regret as hell that I didn't buy a GBA Micro when I found a ton on clearance for 50€ in 2007

Not in terms of rarity and what it has become. Just form factor and how odd it is compared to its concurrent iteration. When I first got a Micro I had no clue it would turn out into what it is today.

Found another use for the 2DS. Kit is extremely interested in the new Pokemon games, but I still haven't bought myself a 3DS XL yet. Buying two of them plus the Wii-U may break the bank, so we may get one so she can play around the house. She's not interested in 3D or portability.

I think that IS the main use of 2DS mate. Also Wii U and 2/3DS together? You are going to have an amazing time with all those great games

Yeah, I meant other than buying them as gifts for my little brothers not in general. Should've been more clear. We're pushing to get them all by the end of the year, since we're both interested in titles coming out for both systems. I'll have to put my retro-collecting on hold for a while though.

First world problems

Well imo you can wait a bit more to buy a Wii U. There will be some amazing games coming out next spring, so if you want to delay one purchase it should be that one. The 3DS on the other hand is having a golden year and you should save money for more games for it imo

It's defiantly for children although in my opinion it looks really really really stupid.

Ugly but cheap. Great price point.

Trade broken henges for scratched screen, but sure some nice protectors will be made.

Nice screen protectors that make the already shoddy looking 3DS screens look even worse.
