Some how I managed to play a LOT of Gameboy back when, but I never played a whole lot of different games for it. Mostly just Tetris, Super Mario Land, Golf and Pokemon Red.

My original grey Gameboy still works and all, but the last time I fired it up the speaker sounded like it was blown.

My brother didn't play Gameboy as much as I did. A few years after I got my Tetris bundle, he got his. I think it was part of the Play It Loud line. It wasn't a color, it was clear.

I played a lot on the Super Gameboy too, but probably not as many hours as on the actual Gameboy.

I'm waiting to get my hands on the Everdrive GB after it comes out. I'd like to explore the GB library more. I've just never been into collecting for it.

I never had the original brick game boy, but the game boy pocket was the very first console I bought for myself (using birthday money - the see through model). I wanted to get it with Pokémon, but it was sold out, so I got it with Mario Land 1 & 2 until pokémon was back in stock. I had to wait for about 3 months XD

I still love the original game boy, I have about 30 games for it (including backwards compatible GBC games). It's one of the few consoles I've consistently bought new games for over the years, whereas other consoles I've either barely bought any games for since I was a kid, or bought loads of games for recently when I started collecting.

When the gameboy was first released, my parents forbade me to own one as they thought it would consume my life. I ended up getting one anyway, and hid it from them. Eventually they found out, and weren't too upset, nor surprised.

My first, and probably favorite games include:

Tetris
Duck tales
Tmnt fall of the foot clan
Super Mario land

I remember being a bit irked that it came packaged with some block-dropping game instead of Mario.

Then I actually played Tetris and oh boy..... I was hooked.

i found my old GB .. and well its condition... lets just say, you wouldn't even want to touch it. i have no clue what those slimy things that are attached to it.

looking back, i barely had any games since i was too young. while i got to borrow games from friends from time to time, the only games i recall being truly mine were
tetris,
fatal fury 2
samurai shodown
kof95

unfortunately all thats left with me right now is tetris and MKII (cant recall where i got it)

One of these days I'll have to get a original gameboy  Still amazing to see there's still some love for the original gameboy even though I didn't have one but did have the gbc that was teal....what a ugly thing(color wise). Just to think of all it spawned from nintendo is amazing :D

Actually JUST reclaimed my original Game Brick from my parent's basement, haven't even gotten a chance to power it up yet. All the original goodies too - original battery pack, link cable, I think even the original earbuds. All in the gray hard-shelled AsciiWare case with a couple manuals.

What was NOT in there, and the reason I was looking for it in the first place, was any of my games :( Not that I had a lot, but I do remember having a few of the Final Fantasies for it back in the day. All that was left was Tetris (which I already had another copy of) and Radar Battle (aka Battleship clone)

Edit: Also found my old Handy Boy in the original box, albeit the box wasn't in the best shape. That one might be going in my FS thread soon to go to a bigger GB lover than me. I love collecting all consoles, but 3rd party accessories I'm kinda meh on.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread
