I have an svideo modded model 1 so the way the jacks are a PBC won't fit on the Genesis, so this seems like a perfect solution. I do have a master system, but having one less system plugged in would be great. I'll let you guys know how this works.
Nice. Let us know man. SMS lock on technology
I got it yesterday, works great! the cart is a bit difficult to insert, seems the pcb was made a bit to wide just like those pirate carts. I wonder if filing down the edges would fix that right up? the pause button is really annoying especially if your playing something like Jurassic Park where you have to pause the game to switch weapons, but thats more of a gripe with the Master System in general.
So bottom line is that it works and gets the job done.
That Game Gear console is either a mockup, or there's only one. I forget the exact story. I was reading about consolized Game Gears a while ago, and that one was mentioned. It may have been on Sega-16.
I, too, would love an easy way to play Game Gear on the big screen. It doesn't sound like it'll happen anytime soon, though.
My games for sale:Racketboy, Amazon, eBay My systems: NES, Nintendo 64, GameCube (Game Boy Player), Wii / Game & Watch: Ball, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP (x2), Nintendo DSi / Genesis (Sega CD, 32X), Saturn / Game Gear / PlayStation, PlayStation 2 / Xbox / Mac (Windows PC) / iPhone, iPad
I don't think it's for sale. This was posted on Sega-16 a while back and I'm pretty sure it was confirmed that it was just a blog for a personal project, and that was the price he put into doing it.
I've never been able to figure out why not one of these companies that make clone hardware has ever done a Game Gear. I have heard that nobody makes the cartridge slot so it would have to be a custom job but still, I think I have read about enough demand for it over the years that it would sell a fair amount. Think of all the custom retro hardware already out there such as the Retrode, the Everdrives, tons and tons of Famicom, Genesis, and NES clones. Surely there would be room for new hardware that plays Game Gear carts or even Turbo Chips/Hu Cards.
Isnt a Game Gear basically a portable SMS with a few exclusive titles?
