If you're looking to save up for SCD games you can always burn the games you want before buying the actual copies. The Sega CD has no copy protection so no worries there.

Also, good call on the X'Eye as opposed to the CDX. I've worked on both systems and the CDX was a nightmare to even take apart, whereas the X'Eye is well laid-out and a cinch to mod/repair.

Well I just got the x eye and it did come with the original ac adapter. The thing.looks coll. Then I put the svideo cables in and .......... WOW OHHH F..KING WOW!!!. I never in my life seen sega games come to life like this. I never seen or heard anything like this. The games looked beautiful. I felt like it aw was 1989 and my buddy bought revenge of shinobi and I saw the game for the first time. I'm in love.
Now remember I had a bad version of the model 1 as a kid. Then i bought a crappy model 2 version with bad color and sound. The model 3 was ok but I never played it on a good tv and it had mono sound. So to me this is night and day for me with the genesis. I am going to collect huge and play the hell out of this thing.

Thanks noiseredux. I can't wait to get sega cd games. My first one I'm buying is final fight. At this point id figured i am just going to get cd only. I don't care if i get case and instructions or not. I think its the cheapest way.

Another difference between cdx and x eye, is cdx is easier to play master system games on.
The common model 1 power base converter doesn't fit x eye.

I'm not worried about sega master system. So I'm ok with that. Been on eBay all day and after final fight I want lords of thunder or robo aleste.

Those are both very fun shooters. Also check out Android Assault if you get the chance, its another pretty sweet shmup with a kickass soundtrack.

Android assault is another one I want. Just put in final fight. It's great to play this again. Other than the cap I'm collection on ps2 or psp the only other way I got o play was arcade. I miss this game.
