Fun fact: No turntables there. The main DJs have been using laptops since before that was the norm.MrPopo wrote:Sounds like that bar is "Where it's at".noiseredux wrote:as a dude totally trapped in the 90's, I love that "alternative" still equates to Beck for you.stickem wrote:What is an "alternative" bar? Smile:
Mrs. Jagosaurus graduated with her Masters Degree today. 2 years in the making.
For roughly 40 days, after her midterms, I decided to cut back on gaming and collecting until her semester was over. I used that extra time to help a lot around the house, cook food, & watch the kiddo so she could focus on "the home stretch." I usually help a good amount any way so I went into overdrive
. Putting a book down or pausing a show on demand is a lot easier to me than stopping a game, I get in the zone lol.
She's officially done. No more homework, projects, & assignments for her.
I'll be playing a few games tomorrow

Yay Bogus and Jags!
Smile: I fixed my lawnmower.
Well, not really. But! Not many people do their own yard work in my neighborhood, so when my neighbors were having their lawn serviced I asked one of the "lawn maintenance" guys if he could figure out why my mower was locked up.
I had gone through the owners manual, googled the issue, youtubed the issue, and this guy resolved it within seconds. Offered him something cold to drink, he wouldn't accept it. Offered him cash for his time, he wouldn't accept it. Offered to mention his business to friends, and he said "This only took me a few seconds Bo. Plus my schedule is booked for the season".

Nice Luke. Always feels good to fix something rather than buy a new one.
Smile:
I do my own lawn as well. Mow, trim/weed-eat, blow off drive & sidewalk, round-up weed killer along fence line, perimeter bug spray, & water (trees - two small live oaks, grass, flower bed).
Takes some time but looks good (which I take pride in) & I enjoy the outdoor time & exercise. It was 101 degrees here yesterday so most of my yard work is early morning on weekends or late evening on weekdays during summer. I threw the sprinkler on my back yard from 9p - 10p last night lol

We live in an incredible world where professionals will give free advice if you're polite.
I was recently at a Wal*Mart where a dude was struggling with changing a flat tire. By the time I walked up to him to offer assistance there were another three or four guys also helping him out. Of course it's hot as balls, no one wants to be at Wal*Mart, yet we have five or so random dudes trying to all help to replace a flat. Took two of us to get one bolt off, but it was refreshing to see some dudes pull together to help someone in need.
Usually that Wal*Mart parking lot is reserved for fist fights, gang fights, shootings, and terrible parking. It was nice to watch pedestrians lend a hand.

I had a similar issue resolved recently. My pressure washer would not operate. The contractor who is currently working on my house mentioned that he also repairs small engines - he had it up and running within 5 minutes.
I did manage to fix my own lawnmower a couple of months ago though.
