I was under the impression that this thread was supposed to be for this very reason. It's been like this for years, we post what we find. Every game I picked up this year, I put in here. Unless you mean those who aren't keeping orderly lists like most of us are doing (like the Games Beaten thread)?

The "look what I found" thread was reserved for good deals/lots/etc at good prices, and I even remembered it used to be called "finds of the day".

I can make a change to the OP if need be.

The title of that thread was changed a couple of years ago.... partly in jest I think. The intended purpose of that thread was to show off good finds - Chrono Trigger for $5 at a yard sale, and so on. However, a large number of users used the thread to display anything and everything they bought. So things became a bit muddled.

Thus, this (yearly) thread was created to differentiate the two.
This thread = dedicated to everything you buy
That other thread = epic deals and so on

I generally only post once a month. Occasionally I will make another post if I find something noteworthy though. I never post in the "deals" thread because, as an unemployed individual, I never go "game hunting" anymore.

I haven't bought anything this month and last months purchase was an R-Type PCB. I'm literally running out of room and games that I want. 3 more PCBs and I'm done with arcade collecting. I think I'm done with retro console stuff altogether. Even today I passed on buying The Order for PS4 citing, "when would I play this?" I'm hoping this year to only buy three games. Sorry a bit off topic.

I've been posting once, or twice a month if I've picked up some solid finds by mid month.

Getting a good overall net price is my goal. Tracking it monthly throughout the year helps me ensure I'm not spending too much... or accumulating too much filler.

Last yr was my first time counting money in/out & tallying purchases for the year. Overall, a fun experience & nice list to look back on. Adds a different element to thr hobby for me personally.

Yeah, echo that, I thought I caused a big s**tstorm by posting just one phone, but I'm still new to Racketboy, so. I'll definitely be aware on what I post where from now on, though.

my .02, though I've probably given my $100s before on the topic:

This thread: posters should post about once a month or so about all they've picked up since their last post. The idea is tracking numbers and patterns of collecting over time, not bragging about deals and the like or updating us every time you spend money on games.

"Look What I Found" thread: posters can post whatever shit they picked up whenever, and hopefully it is an interesting enough story or deal to be worth hearing about.

The "Look What I Found" thread used to be "Finds of the Day" or something similar but people kept posting any old shit they got at retail or $10 used copies of five year old Madden variants, DVD sets, and the like...it got really ridiculous to wade through a lot of mundane "finds" to really dig into the good stuff. I stopped reading that thread ages ago.

I tried at least once to create an "Awesome Finds" thread or "Best Finds" thread or the like, but they too were quickly overrun with B2G1 GameStop sale stuff, clearance items from Best Buy, or stuff like $50 worth of NES games for $35, etc. Stupid shit.

Since I now understand what this thread is supposed to be for and July only recently ended, I mind as well post what I got:

Onechanbara Z2: Chaos (PS4)
Race the Sun (Steam)

Yeah I didn't get much last month but I did get Race the Sun for free. This month should be better though since I'll soon have a game budget :D Definitely looking forward to that.
