Definitely stick with it. I thought it was not just one of the best anime I've ever seen but one of the best shows I've ever seen period. It doesn't really start to pick up steam until after the twentieth-something episode but it's very much worth it. There's also been talks of HBO doing a live-action version by Guillermo del Toro, but there's been no news on it for quite a while.

I watched all 74 episodes in 2010. My takeaway was this was a great story full of fascinating characters (Heinrich Lunge being my favorite). That said, I honestly believe there was plenty of filler fluff that could have been excised. Monster is a great 74 episode series, but it would have been an amazing 24 episode series had all the fat been cut out. All the same, it's not to be missed by lovers of serious anime.

^I didn't really mind it because I found the characters so interesting. Nothing really felt like filler to me, though I can certainly see why it would be to others. I do have a preference for slow-paced thrillers, so there's some bias there to let things go. Lunge was awesome by the way (interestingly my girlfriend hated him). Grimmer has to be my favorite though.

Halfway through the season, it's appareTnt that Del oro's perception of reality is slightly different than the rest of us, which goes a long way to explain the illogical aspects of the pacing and character actions in this series.

There's a lot of shows I consider good, but few that make me do marathon viewing sessions. In the past couple years I think only Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, and Avatar the Last Airbender have done that, so I think Daredevil is pretty amazing

Finally checked out episode 1 of S2 of True Detective. Like it so far.

S1 will be near impossible to top so I'm viewing it as a spiritual successor of sorts.

For those who don't know, S2 is completely unrelated to S1.

Friends and I have been having OITNB get-togethers for a couple of weeks now.

I've already watched the three seasons available, and I have to say the show is very re-watchable. And being able to explain "who is who" to people is helpful.

Finally got HBOGo going, so I should be finishing up GoT soon. Finally finished up Daredevil, which I loved. Super stoked for S2 with Punisher. I'm not sure what else I need to finish up, except Sleepy Hollow. I might need to start another show that I can stream.
