Spent only $9.06 out of pocket for these, black label CIB in nice shape. Keep diving deeper into PS2 collecting....

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I finally pulled the trigger on a DS. This is the cobalt/black DS Lite. It was hard to find one online that had a decent set of (working) screens, stylus & charger included, and without broken hinges. Thanks to Exhuminator's suggestions, I was able to snap one up, and this had 2 games, the one pictured here and Super Mario Advance 2 (GBA), it's a second copy for me now which will be worth a decent trade-in in the future. $50 for the whole thing, not bad really.

@jag not going to lie that next to xbox(if i was even interested) is the easiest thing to collect for right now(especially since they pop up like crazy every where especially at goodwill o_O)
@exed nice, I have the same one too bad bar using a everdrive type device you can't do gbc on it(seriously what were they thinking? if i'd had a job somehow at the time it came out I would've bought it with that built in even if I needed help on that matter of paying for it)

I wanted the GBA compatibility, otherwise I would have went for one of the bigger models. But Exhuminator was right, the screens are the brightest on this particular color Lite model. Just as bright if not slightly brighter than the AGS-101 GBA. It will be good for diving into the vast DS library.

Get a R4i 3DS flash cart http://www.gatewayultra.com/wood-r4i-gold-3ds-rts.html I have one and it works awesome, you can also use it to play NES and Gameboy/GBC games. I have a 32GB card loaded up with every single DS game ever worth playing and the entire rom sets of the NES and GB. Definitely worth it especially if you want to play the Japan only Fire Emblem DS game that got an english translation.

I got it for 120 ZAR (local currency).
So that works out to about $10.

It's a bit nuts what these go for nowadays.

In USD, yes. Around the same number in ZAR you paid. Well over $100.

Incredible find... yeah they go for a killing on ebay, and I never ever even see them for a decent price. I wonder if you can snag me one?

Out of curiosity just now had a quick peek at some of the sold listings of it on ebay.
Some of them in the $200 range, and others even upwards of $300.
Supply and demand, I guess. But still completely nuts.

I've never previously come across one before, and certainly very little/no chance I would think finding another especially all boxed and everything like that one.

Great find, Henry. Way to go! Is there a story behind this?
