Halfway to Halloween!!! - April 30th

Not to take away from our annual Halloween thread, but I've been looking for an excuse to get into some horror movies & games and realized 4/30 is the halfway point to our beloved 10/31!

Yes, I sound like a kid who just turned 8 "and a half" but Halloween is my favorite holiday

In the spirit of this over the next 10 days I'll be playing:
• Resident Evil Deadly Silence
• Doom (PSX port of 1 & 2)

I'll also be watching:
• House of 1000 Corpses
• Evil Dead (on VHS son!)

Any1 else up for a mini horror marathon to hold you over until October?

Uh, chief, you don't have to sound like a kid. You're celebrating Walpurgisnacht.

Walpugrisnacht, or Witches Night, is the eve of Saint Walpurga's feast day. It is traditionally celebrated in parts of Europe with bonfires, practical jokes, and Communist riots(seriously, as it is the day before May 1st). It is also a major holiday in LaVeyan Satanism, and it is the anniversary of the founding of the Church of Satan in the United States. Next year, 2016, will be the Church of Satan's 50th anniversary.

The Brocken, the highest peak of the Harz mountain range in Germany, is believed to have special significance to witches and is a place they supposedly congregate on Walpurgishnacht.

I'm excited, I'm just not sure on what to watch. I still want to see It Follows, I just have to find someone to drag there.

It Follows looks interesting. I think it'd be memorable because of the concept. Does any1 remember The Fallen with Denzel Washington? It's a creepy psychological thriller that uses a similar gimick.

Well, House of 1,000 Corpses is off the list. Its been probably 8 years or so since I watched it last. While the family is creepy & the underground cavern scene captures your imagination, I dig the execution of what Rob Z was going for in Devil's Rejects much better.

On to Ultimate Doom for the night. Killing demons for the satanic holiday. Ironic...
