I just finished the third season of House of Cards last week. I was blown away by the season 2 finale, but the season 3 finale felt like kind of a bummer.
By the way, Sesame Street did a brilliant parody of House of Cards.

Louie's back, and the show is still amongst the very best comedy on TV. Last night's episode was hilarious, and I'm looking forward to the season...

Indeed. "I didn't come" was great too.

How CK manages to make a show so off the cuff, so uncomfortable, so depressing, even miserable at times, yet so hilarious that it is a tribute to his brilliance.

"and you jizzed in his little face"

If I had some shitty terminal disease and was granted a "wish", right up on the top of that list would be to have dinner with Louis Székely.

The show just revels in caricature and satire, largely accomplished through tremendous writing (e.g. "We got sperm from my friend at work who’s gay and who died"), but CK is also a sharp producer who can capture both the vastness of NYC or a small apartment therein with aplomb. The mopeyness/depressing bits largely work to punctuate the humurous parts (and vice versa), making each episode feel a bit rollercoaster-ish. I loved what they did with the multi-part stories last year, and it will be interesting to see what approach the show takes in this season.
