Thanks for all the suggestions guys, some thoughts: :D

First, I realize I didn't actually say it but I'm going to be playing on an open handheld not a computer so any PC game has to be played through a slower than usual Dosbox. And yeah, it cannot play Playstation games and I've played all Lucasarts games already

NeoGeo is fine but I doubt there's a single "relaxing" game in the system

Also try Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre on SNES, and Tactics Ogre on GBA (different game). All strategic battle games, but with a different feel than Fire Emblem. Some might call them a bit more forgiving. In fact, GBA also has Zone of Enders, Advance Wars I and II, and Super Robot Wars Original Generation, which are all fantastic.
Yeah, these are fine. I want to eventually play them. But for now, playing yet another SRPG is not something I have in mind

Yeah, but I don't like them so they are out

I guess look through some reviews of SNES RPGs - Mario RPG and Front Mission from Square, or maybe Tales of Phantasia? How about a WRPG - Wizardry, Eye of the Beholder?

You might be able to get Arena or Daggerfall going in dosbox.

Have you played the Wario Land games? They're way more "relaxing platformer funtimes" than the Mario games. I'm playing the second one now and based on my knowledge of this and the first one I'll recommend the whole series!

ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron is another game I'll suggest. A lot of people don't like it, but I think it's a lot of fun and a pretty laid-back platformer. Plus there's a password system so you don't need to beat it all in one go.

The kirby games, they are pretty easy but very relaxing and pleasing on the eyes

Also Smw 2 Yoshi island is pretty easy and relaxing.

Pretty much this.

The Pokemon games are also pretty relaxing. I know you don't like JRPGs, but Pokemon games are much different from your typical RPG.

And if your not too keen on trying the RPG titles, Pokemon Pinball is a nice relaxing game.

Tetris Attack for Game Boy is another good one. I haven't tried the SNES version yet, but I assume they're all the same. Just a heads up, though; it's really Panel De Pon.

Sonic games can be pretty relaxing. Which is saying a lot, since the game's concept is moving fast.

Beat-Em Ups in general are also relaxing. Streets of Rage and Final Fight are some of my favorites.
This user really likes SEGA Saturn. Avoid at all costs.

I've always though SNES pilot wings had a relaxing vibe.

If Lemmings is the end all be all of life, the universe, and everything, I might as well stop playing video games. No love.

I like puzzle games. Tetris, Columns, Puyo Puyo, Match 3 games. That's one thing my phone is great for. I have more match 3 than I could ever know what to do with.
