^ A standard case for me. Guess that's my official seal.
What I hate is how inconsistent the regions can be sometimes. Europe and or Japan will get a physical copy when we don't, and vice versa. It's silly to say, but it honestly makes me hesitant to buy DL copies then and I just keep pushing them off, even if I have never really gone out of my way to import other versions (and maybe never will). The simple fact of knowing there's a version out there on disk dissuades me from the DL versions.
Digital to Physical
Re: Digital to Physical
I see someone already mentioned The Last Guy.
That should mean I have no reason to post here, but since I wanna post anyway, I'll just mention that I got the PAL version of Agarest: Generation of War on PS3 simply because it got a physical release while US only got digital.

Re: Digital to Physical
Machinarium, Costume Quest, Gone Home, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty, Infamous Second Light, Retro City Rampage, Revenge of the Titans, The first four Fallout 3 Expansions, Basement Collection, Botanicula, Alan Wake's American Nightmare to name a handful.
These all had physical releases, mostly outside North America, and mostly on PC.
The list for games that are digital only on PC in NA but physical elsewhere in the world is staggering.

The thing with Terraria is that the Xbox 360 saw an actual physical release but the PS3 version got a download card instead.
I don't understand why. And it's not even cross buy between it and the Vita version.

Re: Digital to Physical
There's just so much to be honest. I've been tracking digital to physical releases for some time and have a significant number of them in my collection across multiple platforms (Vita, PS3, 360, PS4, etc.).
Teslagrad is receiving a physical release this month on Wii U, PS3, and PS4 in EU.
Awesomenauts is as well; however, I believe that is a voucher in a case type deal. I will wait and see when it releases for final confirmation.
I saw you mentioned the recent indie releases; however, you left out another release for that month which was Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. It received a physical release in the Asia region, Japan, and EU.
Some other recent ones worth noting:
inFamous:First Light - PS4
Ratchet and Clank Trilogy - Vita
Sword Art Online - Vita
Minecraft - Vita
This is only scratching the surface.

I might have missed it, but Patapon 2 started out as a lame download only as did Fat Princess, both got limited retail releases that didn't have a paper slip but a legit UMD (I owned both and wouldn't buy them until that time.)
I also have that indiebox steamworld dig on the way, bought it off here mid-week so I'll see it next week and it looks like a lot of fun.

Re: Digital to Physical
NES Remix I + II have a physical release on Wii U now, along with a mashup that's physical on 3DS. I wish Pushmo would get similar treatment.
Anyway, I love things like this. I'm not a fan of digital distribution, but most of the games released in that format are more to my preference. So I get excited when things like Terraria, Ducktales, or Retro City get retails versions. Looking forward to Teslagrad at the moment.
It's a bit frustrating how spotty the documentation and marketing can be for these though. Most people don't seem to care about the game once it's already been released somewhere for a while, so if the game gets a shot at physical, it can easily fly under the radar. Plus, the fact that games that were ever digital only are often smaller-budget. And added to that, you still have to be careful with these releases; sometimes they'll just include a download card, and often the physical release doesn't make it to every region.

Re: Digital to Physical
IIRC... Cave Story saw a physical 3DS release after it was a DSi shop title. 3DS release was an overhaul graphically.
