I bet if the price was right some super computer dude could do it. I assume most of these people who come up with these programs/emulations/hacks etc do it out of love. Perhaps someone said theres not enough love in the world to write the codes/programs needed to emulate the Saturn and its Quads, and umpten processors and co processors. However, as Maru pointed a lot of the games used just one of the main processors. I wonder if those games would be easier to emulate.

After I saw that there was a PSX emulator for the PowerMac G3 which was 450mhz in 1999, I will stick strong to my opinion that Saturn emulation can be done easy with Core i5 in 2014 . Complex architecture or not.

1) What was the point of Windows CE on the Dreamcast. I own one and never got to use it or saw it, not sure if it runs in the background? What does it do?

2) What Saturn games made full use of the 2 SH CPUs?

It was an alternative enviroment from SEGA's own software libraries and development tools for designing games on their Dreamcast platform. Its was created as means to entice PC development studios to support the hardware by porting their games over the system. Quite a few games were ported over using the systems Windows CE environment. Resident Evil 2, Virtua Cop 2, Starlancer and many others.

Is it possible on today's hardware horse power, of course. The difficulty is coding the emulator to mimic the odd chip set up, not a bottle neck caused by the current machines that would run the emu programs.

Cool. I always assumed the DC received the RE2 & RE3 PC ports (higher resolution & better models) due to the Windows CE... IIRC the GameCube received ports of the original PSX games.

RE3 on DC may not have been ported using Windows CE environment which is why I made no mention of it on my small list. I know for certain that RE2 on DC is based on the superior PC version and was ported over to DC using WinCE.

I own RE3 on DC & PSX.It does look noticeably better IMO. Below is from Wiki, never wrong ;) but seems correct here. Seems likely they used W-CE to port it.

Would be interesting to see if other PC ports used this: Half Life, Unreal, Quake? Where'd your list come from CDAGES?
Dreamcast

A Dreamcast version was released in Winter 2000, which is almost identical to the Windows PC version. Accordingly, it features enhanced 3D character model graphics and the extra outfits and Mercenaries mini-game available right from the start. Visually, the environment backgrounds are, according to GameSpot, "much more defined" .[6] The Dreamcast version also utilizes the VMU by displaying the characters' health status.

GameCube

A Nintendo GameCube version was released in early 2003 and is a port of the original PlayStation version with none of the added features of the prior two

I don't think RE3 was a PC conversion (I have it), I haven't seen the "Powered by Windows CE" at the beginning there. It's nice to have everything available right away.

It def does look a tad better than the psx port, but looks nowhere near as enhanced as RE2 on DC.

You mean my short list? From my own library. The games I play and display the WinCE logo on the SEGA boot up screen.

I've never noticed that logo upon boot.... *goes home to test DC library * :P

I love the RE games on DC. I rented CV over & over. Should've just bought it lol. Got RE2 & 3 yrs later on DC (played PSX games originally) & was impressed.

Some of the crispness is due to AV out on the DC. Always thought it output a great image.
