Ugh why waste their time on such a poor N64 push out to fill the late life of the system. I really am sick of the re-releases and wish they'd do something new. Good on those attached to this thing, but they really need to focus and double down on making new things.

They are making new things. The existence of this remake won't keep them from doing other stuff. (Kirby Triple Deluxe from this year was fantastic, by the way.)

Or, more cynically, it's a gap-filling move. Much like the Ocarina remake was there to shore up the lineup until bigger stuff came along, this will probably do the same during the release doldrums of next year. It's probably Grezzo doing the port again, which means Nintendo probably didn't devote a ton of their internal resources to it.

Anyway, I've got no problem with it being a "major" release or a stopgap. Not like we didn't get one of the best Zelda games ever already on the platform in A Link Between Worlds. :)

Now, Nintendo, we need to talk about a new Metroid. And an absolute yes on Dragon Quest VII, while I'm dreaming.

Stop gap I think is the correct answer as the 3DS has been light this year unfortunately as it's such an amazing handheld.

I agree, we need a Metroid, 2D but 3D in depth, none of that Prime nonsense again. Something more like OtherM without the questionable story and stupid handling of enabling your built in tech that really infuriated people.

I know you're dreaming but I don't see DQ7 being very likely, SE acts way too weird with our market and given the fact it recently dropped on Android for like $15 I think it was, there's not much incentive I'd think as that's easy money with near no cost distribution.

I'm so pumped for this.

That artwork is gorgeous too. Would be nice to have it as a poster.
