@Michi: Sorry my posts have gotten so short. I tend to write them right after I watch a movie, so I'm tired and not really up for typing. :\ But we all enjoy your posts hardcore, I assure you.

@Forlorn: awesome night of flicks! The original Texas Chainsaw is a stone cold classic. A perfect movie. 3D is a great sequel - easily my favorite sequel. Though I've hated all of them except my the prequel. Army Of Darkness rules, of course. And Tamara is a surprisingly awesome straight-to-DVD movie that I think a lot of people overlooked. Good stuff.

Nice! I am glad that you enjoyed it! You're Next is probably the best horror film I have watched this season.

No! Your reviews are immensely entertaining! Please keep up the good work.

....

That said, my wife and I greatly enjoyed:

Cube (1997). It was a fascinating horror/science-fiction film. The acting was a bit wooden at times. The concept was fascinating, however, and it respected the audience's intelligence. (It was also very entertaining.) I highly recommend it to all two or three forum members that have not altready seen it.

We also watched:

The Whip and the Body (1963). While it was not as bad as Mario Bava's worst films (i.e., Five Dolls for an August Moon, Twitch of the Death Nerve, etc.), it was nowhere near his best (i.e., Black Sunday, Black Sabbath, etc.). I had very high expectations for it, and I was sadly disappointed. The movie was beutifully shot, and Bava's use of garish color was on full display. The overwrought soundtrack was laughable, however, and I think Mario Bava considered it a much better movie than it actually is. (Seriously, the move is divided into multiple parts like Gone with the Wind...despite the fact that is is only 88 minutes long. )

.....

SEPTEMBER HALLOWEEN MOVIES: OCTOBER HALLOWEEN MOVIES: EDIT: Also...my wife is looking super-sexy tonight in her totally awesome "Camp Crystal Lake" softball jersey. (She is number 13, BTW.) I love it, and I really wish I had one too!

I've always thought the Cube was interesting but didn't like it quite as much as every1 else. How are the sequels (only one sequel?)?
