Re: I'm not a sockpuppet General_Norris
People will recognize someone's old name, not a new one, so that can cause confusion. If someone does stuff in BST, fuck if I'm going to go through the effort to edit the feedback to say "© (the artist formerly known as Copyleft) >>> +23" and also all of the times people left feedback for you. If someone was a shitty trade partner they could try to hide by changing their name so that people associated the bad trades with the old name in their mind. "DC4Evar? No I'm PS14Lyfe".

Or just come back as a different member altogether ala Kholdstare aka KidDracula.

Actually that can be a banable offense, depending on the conditions. We also don't let people have multiple accounts outside of special circumstances.jp1 wrote:Or just come back as a different member altogether ala Kholdstare aka KidDracula.

I was just pointing out that there are easier methods of skipping the whole bad feedback issue. Of course I'm not legitimately arguing for people switching names all the time for all the obvious reasons already given. Hobie's reason is valid as well when it comes to honest folks.

Haha, I'm not worried about you. I'm worried that some knucklehead will follow your suggestion!jp1 wrote:I was just pointing out that there are easier methods of skipping the whole bad feedback issue. Good point. I guess I didn't think that through very well.

Are you going to go find every feedback message in the thread and convince all of those people to edit them to say the new name if you convince us to as well? It isn't like you named yourself Ilikethesmellofmyownfartsandlustaftermycousin or something, 8bit is a perfectly fine name to me and everyone knows that as you.8bit wrote:*looks for someone else named 8bit on the internet saying rude things on other forums*
