New DSi owner seeks help

Hi all.

I seem to have a had a bit of a splurge this last week and have ended up with THREE Nintendo handhelds!

Latest one is a DSi xl, which I really love. It's just right for me. But I know the online game download service for the DS consoles is dead now, so is there a way of downloading games to another device (NOT a 3DS) and transferring them over - say on SD card?

Or is it now completely impossible to buy download games for the DS family of consoles (except the 3DS ones)?

Hmmm DSi Ware is still up on 3DS. Nintendo canceled the store also on DSi models with recent server shut down? I thought it was only pure game specific DLC & online play but I could be wrong. Sucks.
