It's like Gamefly but for retro games. Wondering if anyone tried and thinks it's worth it.

Anyone tried Retroscribe?
Re: Anyone tried Retroscribe?
Interesting... but what's to stop you from just never sending a game back? You must have to pony up credit card details at the start and I guess they would just keep charging you until you send it back?

If a game doesn't come back they charge you $100.BRIK wrote:Interesting... but what's to stop you from just never sending a game back? You must have to pony up credit card details at the start and I guess they would just keep charging you until you send it back?

Hey guys - just wanted to pop in and say "hi" - I'm the guy that was crazy enough to open Retroscribe.
The service is getting some serious traction now and a lot of new subscribers are trying it out.
We just announced today that you can get a free game (to keep) when you sign up for a free 30-day trial. 2 more big announcements coming this week, too!
Anyway, it's great to see people are talking about us, and just know that I'm here to answer any questions or help out.
Thanks!
Bill

So what's the plan when certain carts reach over $100 or near? For example, if you had several rare RPGs, it'd be a draw to me (as Im not an emulation guy). I'd pay $10 a month to experience the SNES RPGs I want to buy but can't justify the price.
That cart pays for itself over time for you of course.
Also... when is a game determined as "un-returned"? It often takes me 40 days to knock out a RPG with my schedule.
Thanks.

Well, I'm not a market predictor but I really can't foresee any of our inventory reaching the $100 mark. We have about 4 games coming in stock soon that are around the $75 mark, but that's as high as we're going to go for now. Too much risk otherwise, ya know?Jagosaurus wrote:So what's the plan when certain carts reach over $100 or near? There are going to be some seriously awesome new games available starting later this week and continuing on the rest of the year.
A game is only "unreturned" if you cancel your subscription and don't get it back to us within 14 days after cancelation. As long as you're paying, you can keep a game forever, and I'd prefer that you keep it for months, we make more money that way haha
