Basically means it's a very early production Genesis.

TMSS was Sega's system for blocking unlicensed carts. When you see that “Produced by or under license of Sega Enterprises Ltd.” screen immediately after turning the system on, it's from the system checking a particular address of the ROM to make sure it was signed.

It was implemented as a counter to unlicensed carts that had been released, so the early revisions of the system don't have it. Outside of playing unlicensed carts, it's also a pretty surefire way to know you have the most desired sound chip. (more info here)

Alright. Pretty decent Goodwill finds today:
- Zelda Spirit Tracks CIB
- Zelda Phantom Hour Glass CIB
- Marvel Ultimate Alliance PS3 Sealed

Seems Ultimate Alliance goes for a decent amount sealed.... lower print BC it was already on PS2? I'm not complaining. Realistic price on this one sealed? I paid $2.99 lol.

I was lucky when I got my Sega Genesis because it happened to be a Non-TMSS one. I never saw the guide before I bought it and knew I wanted one from when I was a kid. I like to joke with my friends that I can tell them a good Sega Genesis from a bad one by just looking at it.

Mine is a VA-3. My Model Two, however, isn't a good one. I use it for display since I always preferred the model one over the model two.
Systems Owned: NES, Sega Genesis (Non-TMSS), Game Boy, Game Gear, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis (Model 2), PlayStation, N64, Sega Dreamcast, GBA SP, Xbox, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Xbox 360, Wii, Playstation 3, PSP, Nintendo 3DS

Right off the hop I bought Witcher 2 and the Amnesia bundle and thought I might have to restrain myself, but haven't found anything since. Of course I do have a few that I would've bought had I not already owned them (the Far Cry games and such). Total War Rome II for $20 is tempting but I'm still not any good at Shogun II.

Will do Aaron. I played a decent amount of this on the Wii & watched my roommate then (man, been 5+ yrs ago) beat the final boss. Fun game. I own it on PS2 as well so I might sell it.

Really as long as it's got "High Definition Graphics" written on top you're guaranteed to have one with good sound. Non-TMSS is just a bonus but some people are picky about it. They're pretty easy to tell as well just by looking at the bottom. Non-TMSS systems have a longer FCC number.

Dang! Good finds! Not anywhere near me, right?

Got Shikigami no Shiro 2 for the Gamecube for $7.50 shipped from San Antonio on eBay. No big box, and no figurine, but not complaining. I wasn't even looking for this version (wanted the US PS2 one), but I had a hunch on the auction and watched it till it was mine.

Haven't bought any old games in quite a while. Here's some random online pickups I made this month.

-Top Secret: Hitler's Resurrection (JP Bionic Commando)
-Pop'N Twinbee
-Rolling Thunder 2
-Rolling Thunder 3

I deserve 30 lashings for not having the Rolling Thunder games already. They're a must on the Genesis.
