I had no idea. I thought someone just came up with some slightly engrish, shmup-sounding name.

d00d, seriously stop whatever you are doing today that you think might be important and go watch Blade Runner. There is no better use of your time.

You should just go buy it, but it is also free to stream on Amazon Prime right now if you have that.

Blade Runner is the best movie I've ever seen, and is my favorite movie of all time. I've seen it countless times, and I always find something new in it every time I do. Make sure you watch the "Final Cut" version of it (circa 2007 release). It is the only version that Ridley Scott had complete control over editorially.

I am just starting to watch this and have not finished the series, but so far it seems cool.

Great to know, I'll try to track this version down if possible, and will be watching this movie asap!

Can't wait to see what you think of Lain, JT. I love it, but I grew up with it. Its... very different, and I never know what someone will think when I show them it.

The best cyberpunk anime series I've seen in years:

Watched it last year and LOVED it. Highly, highly recommended. Fantastic story, deep characters, tech overload, and gore galore. Texhnolyze is also quite good, and underrated if you ask this guy right here.

watch blade runner? i agree that you should, but i personally prefer the book it was based on. read "do androids dream of electric sheep?" by phillip k. dick if you liked the movie but thought "eh, could've had more substance" and your appreciation of both the film and novel will increase (kinda like getting wired reflexes before an enforcer run)

and then go play snatcher!

Basically agreed. Might be my #1 as well. Last time I watched it was in the dark with my headphones, drowned in the atmosphere. It gets better with every viewing.

Total Recall!!!

Also based off another Phillip Dick book... so is Minority Report IIRC.

While we're on Arnold... Running Man has some futuristic cyber vibes as well. This one is based on a Stephen King book (written under his sydonym).
