Resident Evil 3 was actually meant to be a side story & Code Veronica is the true RE3. Capcom had to make Nemesis a "numbered" title due to a deal with Sony.

This is making an insane amount of sense to me, right now.

Yuuup. That's why a good portion of the game takes place before RE2 lol. Naming it 3 was only to fulfill their deal.


Also should mention the original RE4 project became Devil May Cry 1.

Super Mario 64 was originally going to be from an isometric viewpoint, not a free roaming one. There's still some evidence of this, as the Bowser levels by default have a somewhat isometric view.
