@ the final battle in Fire Emblem Awakening.

Have a few Spot Pass Paralouges & 2 Risen battles to knock out & then I'll take on chapter 26 (of 26)! :)

What was it... the ultimate-real-final dungeon was composed of three different final dungeons when you had to traverse another dungeon to even get to the main final dungeon(s). There was at least 4-5 linked together in the final stretch, I recall timing myself and put in like 10 hours worth on this final bit alone. Dungeon crawler to the bone. Madness is an understatement.

I would love to see FFIII get the PSP-esque remake treatment, the DS games still don't really interest me much because of the looks.

You realize FFIII is on the PSP, right?

But yeah, it retains the look of the DS game.

I really like how FFIII DS looks though, same with IV. Dem chibis. 8)

This. The end of that game is just nuts. At least it lets you "surface" to the overworld briefly about 1/2 way through the whole ordeal. (Also, several of my characters had maxed out their job level for multiple jobs before I got to the end, and if I recall correctly, many were approaching the character level cap as well. The final stretch was still difficult.)

FFVA update:

Put a lot more hours in yesterday. Around 31 hours of playtime. I've collected 3 tablets and recovered most of the legendary weapons. I've acquired all the Blue, Black, and White magic. Only one more Summon left. Only main stuff I think I have to do in this world is the Phoenix Tower and underwater trench for the final tablet. Maybe some of the new content.

I've already mastered a lot of jobs for each character. I feel like a few jobs, like Monk, have too many levels for the sake of leveling.

Current party: LV41 Knight-LV5, LV41 Summoner-LV5, LV40 Black Mage-LV6, LV40 Knight-LV5. Knights are using two-handed not DW because I don't have enough good swords, Summoner is using !White-LV7, and Black Mage is using !Time-LV7.

Black/Time is definitely devastating. Think I had that setup myself and a White/Summoner. Those two alone could hold their own haha. Early on in the game I think Monk's barehanded was pretty useful for the mage classes, so when needed they could dish out some heavy physical damage as well.

@Bone: Haha I forget it got ported, but yeah naturally I meant FFIV Complete wise. I would love to see FFIII done in that style.

FFIII had killer music all over the place, tons of tracks too for an NES game. A lot of it felt rather depressing and bleak though, but that made it even cooler.

Yeah I had everyone as a Monk ASAP for the healing spell, counter, and barehanded.

I feel like Summons kinda replace Black mage in this FF. Blue and Time magic are also more impressive to me as well. And if I do want to use a Black spell, most times I prefer to use them with Spellblade.

That's pretty true. Wasn't the spell... Meteo in the game? I recall Time having two or three attack spells that were brutal. But I do remember the later black magic spells were amazing if you knew an enemies weakness.

That said... yeah a Time/Summoner and Time/White setup would be equally crazy. I'm all about the buffs in RPG's thesedays, so I loved the Time abilities.

Faris was kind of my misc character and I had her as a blue mage usually. Not that I remember it being that useful though, but there were some good spells. Bartz I remember making a Knight again at the very end when I had Rapidfire and other crazy abilities that made him really good.

Red Mage was pretty forgettable haha. I can see how it's probably doable in the first chunk of the game, but overall I think it's definitely way better to just have a pure Black/White/Summoner focus instead.

Oh man, I'd love to see FFVA hit the Wii U VC shop.

Yeah, I actually like !Time's Meteor more than !Summon's Bahamut because it uses less MP while still dealing out great damage. Comet is good earlier in the game too. Quick can save your butt in an instant and Return along with Teleport can save you much headache. !Blue's Mighty Guard diminishes some of those !Time protection buffs later though.

Black mage still has some nice ones in their final tier and Drain, Bio, and Break can be awesome.

I agree but your casters need to master it eventually to get Dual-cast. It's just too good not to have. I can't wait till I get to pair it with !Time's Quick. I feel like Red Mage would have made more sense being an earlier job. Maybe give the player R. Mage instead of W. Mage from the first crystal.
