I didn't expect this to ever see daylight again.

I like to talk about obsolete electronics as a future archaeology exhibit. Now it's really happening.

I wonder if anyone will put some on ebay as collectors items and see if it goes through the roof in price. I wonder if Atari systems and games are going to go up in price also.

I'm adding a good layer of dirt to my defender cartridge right now. Check ebay in five minutes for my rare collectible atari fossil.

The buzz around the project could cause the stuff to go up in value a little bit. These are pretty simple games though that most likely won't hold the average gamers attention for long and they have been re released so many times that they are easily accessible through a variety of systems. Highly doubt most will climb more then a $.50-$1 unless hipsters completely loose their shit as has been known to happen  .

Just in case it's time to go bury the 50+ duplicates I have sitting around  .

Interesting Atari story to finally maybe be confirmed? I'm still waiting for the Arcade cabinets dumped in the ocean to be rediscovered, I think it was the I Robot game, doubt any could be restored though. :?

Even so, the IRobot ocean story was debunked by an ex-Atari employee in 2009.

Not true. Total myth. I would have LIKED to dump about 500 I Robot controls into the Pacific – they were a nightmare, but that didn’t’ happen either.

I've seen NORMAL ET games going up on eBay since the news broke. Typically the game loose goes for around 5 to 10 dollars on eBay. With CIB going for around 20. Since the news broke, the loose copy of the game has been going for over 20 dollars. I haven't seen any CIB's however so I think the news about it is driving up the price on eBay since people want to have a "copy" of it for some reason.
