I have to say, ever though I am disappointed, the nods the team gave to the comp scene was great.

I was more thinking about "Marth", Lucina before she revealed her identity. Maybe they don't want to spoil the game? Then again they have Zelda transforming into Shiek, so they probably don't care.
And ok you got me there, more female characters (specially ones without a dress) is a good thing.

Most awesome thing EVER, though I'm not sure how I feel about the Megaman EXEs being there. Specially the second one who started in what....one game?

Mega Man's final smash was cool for sure. I also showed my brother that Charizard and Greninja were playable and he got all excited. =]

I'm probably only saying this cause he was my pick for starter pokemon, but Chestnaught seems a better fit for Smash Bross thatn Greninja.

His in game model is much cooler than all the promotional art makes him look, and he's a grass/FIGHTER unlike Greninja who is water/dark

Anyway, this video managed to make me really excited about Smash Bros again.

I never took part in the competitive Smash scene, but for some reason I still just didn't enjoy Brawl that much (even though it has FREAKING Sonic in it.....a super annoying version of Sonic that is).

This game feels like it's going to get me addicted to smash like melee did.

They also got my fanboy bases covered with Sonic and Megaman :P (the Zero from my nickname is from the one in the Megaman X series...yeah I know Zero is not in this, but still), so it also has that going for it. Now all I need is Shulk and I won't complain even if they re-add tripping in the game (joking of course, WTF was up with tripping???)

I am pretty excited for more pokemon, and Greninja seems like a great choice. Tongue-scarf is awesome, and he is the best starter from this gen.

Game just keeps looking better and better.

Did we get a firm release date?

Edit, just saw this. Was expecting a simultaneous release....
Nintendo announced that Smash Bros. for 3DS will release this summer, followed by the Wii U version in winter 2014.

If they were banking on this to move WiiUs then that's not a smart order lol. Should've tried to flip those & have console version drop 1st, encouraging 3DS owners to get the WiiU. Just my 2¢…

No. They just said this summer for the 3DS version and winter for the Wii U one.

Hopefully that means July or August for 3DS and then a holiday release for the console version.

Yeah, it seems a bit strange to me too. As a 3DS only owner it makes me less likely to pick up a Wii U later this year. Although, it does save me money, so I'm not complaining.

I honestly can't see where you guys are coming from. Smash Bros is a major party game, and you can only enjoy it properly on a big tv with 4 players. This handheld version is going to be awesome I'm sure, but I feel like the soul of the series will remain on the Wii U.
