Elemental + Choco/Mog adds Wind Element to my weapon. It was quite useful early on, although it doesn't do much any more. No idea what to change it to right now thoughdunpeal2064 wrote:What does Elemental+ChocoMog do?
And yeah... the game is too easy without discovering the insane Enemy Skills. With Might Guard alone, I doubt anything outside superbosses will give you trouble.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Ah, gotcha! For some reason I was thinking ChocoMog was just base damage with no element, and thus was confused as to what it was adding.
Its sad... the mechanics in the game are pretty awesome. I had a blast pairing up Counter, Elemental, etc with different Materia, and trying out builds for different characters.... but, everything in the game just falls down, so there really is no incentive to work the system.
Seems like a common flaw in many FF games.

As a summon, it does do non-elemental damage. For some reason, when paired with elemental, it adds wind element. It's kinda odd.dunpeal2064 wrote:Ah, gotcha! For some reason I was thinking ChocoMog was just base damage with no element, and thus was confused as to what it was adding.

That is odd! I'm... not sure I ever knew that, and I spent way too much time playing this game.
If you are trying to get all the enemy skills, be sure to get Death Sentence from the cave in Cosmo Canyon. I recall it either being extremely difficult, or impossible to get that skill after you are done there.

Is that an instant kill move? Do I need to have some form of auto-revive to get it?dunpeal2064 wrote:That is odd! I'm... not sure I ever knew that, and I spent way too much time playing this game.![]()

Re: RPG Progress Report
I believe it is a doom-type move, that gives your character 30 "seconds" or something to live, so you'll learn it before it goes off.
Hopefully this isn't a spoiler, but there is an Ultima Weapon enemy in the game, and he also has a enemy skill that only he and sephiroth use. If you want to learn it, you have to get it from Ultima. Its a bit later in the game, so I won't go into details, but it may be handy to know. I hate perma-missing things like this.
The first time I played, I didn't see Ramuh sitting in the room you are in before your first Chocobo race, and was never able to go back and get it.
Alexander may also be perma-missable, and that one is a pain in the butt to get.

Oh bugger, I've missed Ramuh as well then. Theres been a lot of really hard to spot materia. I only found Titan by chance.dunpeal2064 wrote:I believe it is a doom-type move, that gives your character 30 "seconds" or something to live, so you'll learn it before it goes off.

Never mind, I've not really been using summons other than to combine with the elemental materia

Re: RPG Progress Report
Yeah, they stick a red materia on red carpet. Pretty messed up.
If its any consolation, there is still a way to cast Ramuh. You'll just have to take down the hardest bosses in the game to do so

Re: RPG Progress Report
Chapter 16 of Fire Emblem Awakening (of 26).
A bit confused on the paraloge/side quest #ing system as they seem to come up out of order but my guess is I've knocked out 10ish (of 28)
Completed at least 15 Risen battles (42K of gold right now thanks to those). Used the Master Seal to promote all my current party members. I have 4 second seals I'll use soon.
Man... addicted to this one. I'm "played for 45 minutes in my truck during lunch" addicted lol. Good stuff.

There are banks of paralogues. So there's one group that you tend to unlock in order, then another that will jump around depending on how you play the game.
