What was the last movie you've seen?

Probably.

The guy who wrote/is writing it is pretty darn incredible (wrote a bunch of Buffy, Angel, Spike, TMNT, among a lot of other stuff), and in the real early 2000's he almost go the green light for a "The Sims" movie. So the guy obviously knows how to write nonsensical dialogue.

It's going to be dynamite.

Agreed. Can't wait.

If you aren't following James Gunn on whosay, you're missing out. And if you are asking yourself, "Who is James Gunn" you're really missing out.

I just watched a documentary, "No One Said It Would Be Easy", which is a film about the band, Cloud Cult. It talks about the band's origins, and the lead singer's journey through grief and back to love/happiness.

Craig Minowa, the lead singer, and his wife (who paints onstage during CC's live performances) had a child in 2000; in 2002, the child died in the night, for reasons still unknown. Craig and Connie separated at that point, Connie working through her grief through painting, Craig immersing himself in songwriting and music editing, listening to recorded clips of his deceased son.

I won't give away the ending, but needless to say, it's... intense. It's on a flash sale ($1 with the promo code "8") right now, so I'm going to pick it up (once they figure out some promo-code weirdness, with it not working atm), because it's really, really good. Well worth the watch. Hell, it's only $4.99 normally, maybe I'll just buy it for that :p

It's also on Hulu Plus, if you have that.

Edit: links/additions
Final Fantasy IX is the best one

Wait, what?

Thank doesn't make a smidgen of sense.

And huh, what? John Trank's twitter feed is down.

I'm calling bull, but it would be awesome if Marvel was buying the rights, or something like that.

No, no, no silly.

FLETCH is one my favorite comedies of all times, as it is with most kids of the 80's, and it is far from a cult classic. It's a mainstream classic that almost every one I know quotes.

Fletch Won went straight to DVD, no?

Oh. Little Misunderstanding there

If it did, I didn't know it even existed. I am only aware of Fletch and Fletch Lives. What I think they are doing now is a complete reboot and just starting with Fletch Won, although it has been in production hell for over a decade, from what my very limited research turned up

Just saw Enders Game & quite liked it. If you can red box it for a buck & are interested in a fun sci fi movie, check it out.

Starving Games

Was looking for a goofy light comedy to watch before bed last night so I decided to check out the Hunger Games parody movie Starving Games which just popped up on Netflix. One word of advice avoid it :P it doesn't even fall into the it's so bad it's funny category. The movie tried to be stupid funny but went a little to heavy on the stupid :P. A lot of the jokes were just completely flat and the writing was terrible :P. The acting wasn't much better either wouldn't be surprised if this was the first and last films for many of the cast members :P. Overall it was one of the shitiest movies I have seen in the past decade :P.

Given how much and many people go into making a movie, I will never understand why would some one work on movies like this. When you think about the director, writers, cameramen, actors, investors, producers..etc etc , were they all convinced this was a good idea?
