Smile - Several weeks ago some of my wife's friends were moving and asked us to take fifteen five gallon buckets of random feed - Corn, Beans, Wheat, Rice:

He bought it years ago for a steal and used it for several years. So we took them, and they sat in my garage for awhile. Last weekend we traded them to my grandfather in law for this badboy:

Which the shell is in great shape and the wood inside has no visible mildew or mold. So we are going to gut out the kitchen and turn it into a mobile tent for weekend camping. It will have one permanent bed, one air bed, and some cubbies on the front wall. That way we can roll into a camp site and we are done. Specifically the campsites in the Smokey Mountains.

Now I have to figure out how to sell 60s camper appliances. I have robins egg blue fridge, range, and sink (all of which you cant see in that picture), and the obvious white four burner oven. Which apparently is a big business and if we are lucky we can sell them and get new whitewalls for the camper.

Ticked - our survey database is acting up today and that means the rest of the week will be spent playing catch up thanks to this issue.

I'm a manatees.

During the Rotary Club meeting today we had a guest from the American Cancer Society, who was a short, slightly chubby, but all-smiles African American woman. She was the only "person of color" in the room. Almost ALL of our members are old retired white duders (I'm probably the youngest by two decades) . I'm assuming some of you could guess what was told during the meeting.

A member who is Italian American stood up and began his terrible joke about a man talking to his divorce attorney.

-Do you have grounds for your case?
'an acre and a half'
-Do you have a foundation?
'yes, concrete'
-Does she beat you up?
'No, I always wake up first'
-Is she a nagger?
'No she is white'
-Why the divorce?
'She's going to poison me. There is a bottle of poison in the bathroom called Polish remover'

When the nagger part came up, I already knew the punch line, so I looked at our guest and gave her the "You know what's coming too don't you" look. She nodded and rolled her eyes.

Now that was bad, but wasn't that bad. What happened next was worse.

More than a dozen people stopped by our table, welcoming our guest and also stating, "Don't worry, Sal is an Italian American" as if he deserved a free pass. When people said this to her she and I would lock eyes and this time I was doing the eye-rolling.

Would I have been upset? Not sure. Was she upset? Yes. She put on a brave face, but the entire room laughed at the joke, which I found to be very uncouth. Not so sure if she'll become a member, but if she does, it would be something awesome and one hell of a show of character.

:x : There's a mouse that's been chewing on something inside the wall of my room the past two night, and since I don't own the place I can't cut a hole in the wall and put down poison or anything. He's very bold too, he only stops for a few seconds when I pound on the wall over him.

I read the animal as "moose", which makes for a much more interesting story.

Dogs eye is still wonky, and what do ya know? They want to schedule another appointment, at a cost of course. I'm about to get pissed. Like go to their office and raise a shit storm pissed. Like I'm looking at this:

pissed.

I blame a lot of this on myself for allowing a vet to say "let's try this" and taking his advice. I know better than that.

Luke, does he ever go swimming? Imagine it's too cold now but my dog had eye & ear drops I had to use when she went swimming in ponds to prevent infections.

Oh no. She can't swim; way too top heavy. Even when she was three years old she would sink, muzzle first.

Poor dog can't even dog paddle.

I think it is possible she may have torn one of her three eyelids (crazy that dogs have three eye lids eh?) but "me no doctor".

Even if the diagnosis was "sorry, but that's just how it'll be" I would be fine with that. But this "Hmm. Let's try this" is bullsnot. Two hours of my day and a hundred dollars out of my pocket to stress out my dog? Eff that nonsense .
