finally got around to seeing Pearl Jam 20. It was excellent.

Amazing. Loved it. Chloe Grace Moretz was incredible, as was Julianna Moore as Margaret White.

Funny story about the first adaptation from the 70s: Piper Laurie thought that the movie was a comedy and that's why her acting was so over the top.

But that wasn't the case with Moore's Margaret White, which is much darker and sinister.

Hard to believe it but I think this one's actually a better version of the story (though I've never read the original Stephen King novel), though all the other adaptations (a so-so-but-not-that-bad made-for-TV adaptation from the 2000s and the so-vile-it's-awesome Broadway adaptation) don't put up as much of a fight as De Palma's version.

Loved it. Awesome family film.

The film's about a young boy, orphaned after his parents died while mountaineering, who is sent to live with his uncle and attend the school he runs in a remote village.

But it turns out that the teachers are cruel and abusive, and the uncle steals from the school's funds for his own financial gain. When it looks like he could lose everything, the uncle fakes the boy's death (he leaves him at an amusement park in the city) and claims the boys incredible inheritance.

The boy finds his way back and with the help of a spirited homeless woman and a mysterious man living in a bungalow that's considered "haunted" by the superstitious villagers, the boy becomes a hero known as Zokkomon.

I totally recommend this for your next family movie night, though only if you and your kids don't mind subtitles, since the movie does not feature an alternate English dub (unlike, say, the films of Studio Ghibli).

Last night, I convinced my wife into watching:



Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie (2011). We both laughed uproariously throughout the film, and it is imminently quotable. Moreover, my laughter from thinking about the film while I was in bed last night kept me from falling asleep. That said, the movie in incredibly strange, and I understand why most people would hate it. Accordingly - and while I enjoyed it quite a bit - I can't really recommend it to anyone unless I am intimately familiar with his or her sense of humor.

If you find this funny, then you may very well enjoy the film. Moreover, you can stream the film through Netflix; so if you - like most people - hate the film, you can turn it off pretty quickly.

I loved it. Even more than Zokkomon, and that's saying something.

The story's a really great fantasy film, with a story that's almost fairy-tale-like in nature. It's easy to see why Disney was involved in this, since it totally feels like the kind of film that would be in its wheelhouse.

Great for the kids, though there's a reason it's rated PG-13.

I never knew Disney made exclusive Indian movies. Here in the far EAST middle-east we are pretty close with the Indians. Indian movies used to be hugely popular but their popularity started to decline due to globalisation and movies from Hollywood.

IMO recent indian movies have much higher production quality now but its always over-the-top cheese, they also try too hard to be as American as they can even including a lot of English phrases and expressions where it is not necessary for an Indian audience.
