On DC, right?
And yeah, it rules. So much better than the first game too.
As far as Dreamcast RPGs go I'd rank Skies of Arcadia a bit above it, but knowing your tastes you'd probably dig Grandia II much more.
What RPG are you playing right now?

yeah on DC. Great visuals. Good story (thus far). Nice battle system. Enjoying it. Sucked me in pretty quickly.
I've yet to play Skies. Don't own it yet.

Finished Banner Saga. I might replay the last chapter, depending on the content of the second part of the trilogy (if the party from the first plays a decent role in the second I'll want to redo a few choices I made that I'm very unsatisfied with).

I'm gonna start playing HEXYZ FORCE for the psp.
I had bought it a few months ago and sadly it got stolen along with my psp, when my house got broken into.
I already had about 10-15 hours on it.
I was really starting to enjoy that action-rpg.
But I had a hard time trying to find it again. Its a later PSP game and this one and others are getting harder to find.
The manager at a gamestop managed to get it for me from another store. I already had the box and the manager from another store sent the game in.
YAY!
I'm also playing RIVIERA THE PROMISED LAND for the PSP too. I played it a few years ago and popped it in again just for fun.
But this one may be put on hold again now that I have hexyz force again.

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
I started playing Hexyz Force in the fall and gave up after about 15 hours. I thought it was too easy, even on hard mode. Not bad, but nothing particularly good. Far below the Dept.Heaven series from the same company (Sting).
The game has some really pretty artwork though. You just might enjoy it. It definitely wasn't an action-RPG though, it was a traditional turn-based game.

DC or PS2? I was probably 10 hours into Grandia II a few years back when I was in grad school & had to stop due to lack of free time. I still own it... need to revisit it. Loved what I played. Interesting battle system.noiseredux wrote:started playing Grandia II a couple of hours ago. It's... it's really good.
Edit: just saw you said DC

It's also on the PC along with Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Breath of Fire IV, and Blaze and Blade: Eternal Quest... I wish developers had kept the JRPGs-on-PC trend going, maybe then I wouldn't have to own so many consoles.

I really think the battle system is fantastic. I was never a fan of ATB in FF games, but the way timing is implemented here just feels great.
That first boss battle felt so awesome. I loved having Millenia in my party (because her special attacks were so powerful).
Did anyone else feel like Roan was maybe modeled w/ a nod towards Link?

Also, it was this really pleasant surprise to hear the voice of Leonardo in the game.
