That's pretty terrible man. A co-worker and I were talking about how much we hate thieves yesterday. I will never understand why people would rather hurt others than go out and do a honest days work so they can buy things themselves.

Check craigslist also. I personally know someone who found a stolen item listed & got the theif arrested. People can be so stupid....

I'm sorry dawg. It's infuriating to be violated like that. I had my house broken into once. And while it was before I was a game collector I had other things stolen. My roommate, one the other hand, lost his entire game collection.

One "good" thing is the fact that you had Super Famicom games taken - those are quite distinct. Inform all the local pawn shops, game stores, and thrift stores. Check craigslist. Alert the police as these thieves have likely hit other places besides yours.

And when you find the chode(s) who did this - destroy them.

damn.

I had some stuff stolen too some months ago.

The thief broke in to my home, stole my tablet, net book and my psp. Not to mention a 1tb hard drive and lots of little memory sticks/sd cards.

I think it was a poor dumb thief that wanted to sell stuff quickly.

he also stole my food from my fridge and a whole bunch of dollar tree colognes. He dumped out a duffel bag and put all my stuff in it.

I had a whole bunch of games and other systems, but the fucker never touched them.

I think the theif thought that my colognes were worth a lot, (they werent) and that may have saved the rest of my collection.

Never got my stuff back.

Hopefully you'll get lucky and get your stuff back.

Maybe you or a friend can make a craigslist ad where you are looking for certain games? Maybe the theif is dumb enough to answer you?

If you have lots of friends on facebook, maybe you can ask if they have any friends that may have seen the stuff? Doesnt hurt to ask!

good luck!

Good idea. Even a general "looking for old Nintendo games". Don't be too specific or make yourself sound knowledgeable. Play dumb and sound like a casual gamer bitten with nostalgia. If you've reported to the police (you should) and they respond, ask for a picture or a list. If you get a hit, alert police and have them come along and be ready to ID or give specifics that show it is yours.

I've been observing this post from day 1 and I gotta finally speak out and say... I'm SO sorry about what happened to you :(

It's so fucked up that someone can just go and steal other people's shit. Karma's a bitch so I really hope the people responsible get apprehended.

I sincerely hope you find any of your stuff that was taken from you. But more importantly, I hope this doesn't put you off from continuing your hobby...

YEAH!!!

Wait. What?

Thieves can take a hike, but always lock your doors and such. At the end of the day, if a thief wants your stuff, he'll probably find a way.

True story: I was at my pal Jeff's house as he and another pal Paul were planning on going to a poker game. When we got ready to leave, Jeff came back into his house screaming madly that someone had stolen his car radio.

When an officer arrived on scene, Jeff was still livid. When the cop went to his car to write the report, Jeff went on a tirade. "This area is full of crime and you never see any f***ing cops on patrol. The A-holes are too busy trying to bust kids drinking underage and trying to meet traffic ticket quotas to give a flying f---. Bunch of a-holes."

What Jeff didn't realize was that the officer's window was down and heard his rant. The officer calmly walked toward Jeff, explained to him that if he didn't clean up his language he could be ticketed for being a public nuisance. And then the cop asked "Were your windows up and doors locked?". Jeff froze for a few seconds before saying "Um, no". The cop said "If this area is full of crime as you stated, you should know by now to keep your car secure".

Paul and I couldn't contain our laughter.

My friends think I'm a whacko for deadbolting the house locks even if I'm at home, but I say you can never be too safe.

Dude that sucks. I'm freakin petrified of this. I had a breakin a couple months ago, and that was like my silver lining was that they didn't touch ANY of my oldschool stuff, and there was STACKS of SNES rpg's in plain sight, because I was just starting to work on getting everything in UGCs... and stacks of flash carts right next to that. Neo-Geo with the full video/unibios mod, TurboCD... they didn't touch anything. All I lost was the easily replaceable stuff: PS3 (was CFW, but fortunately I found one from a coworker that I could CFW because they hadn't used it in so long), 360, PSP, DS, Wii... so far I've replaced everything except the 360 and DS.

But yeah. If they had raided the retro stuff, I have no idea what I would have done.
