Re: So what have you guys been watching lately?
I've been watching some Star Trek: TNG episodes on netflix. It's good because now I don't have to sit through a Troi story to get to the interesting stuff. It's a lot better written than I remember as well. Romulan's are proper bastards. And I always thought it was Galron but apparently it's Gowron. Twenty years I've been living a lie.
The only thing I watch "live" as it were, aside from Match of the day, is Sherlock. This last season disappointed me greatly, it seems to be suffering from what Doctor Who is suffering from which is an terminal case of Steven Moffat writing disorder.
It mostly affects the story and replaces cool ideas, fancy effects laden but ultimately pointless dramatic vignettes and silly twists with an actual story line with believable characters. Also, for a show about a genius level detective and his reasoning skills, perhaps don't have the most obvious twist actually be the twist, it kind of undermines the character.

So true. And especially the ones with her mom. Dear god that character was annoying.
I still say The Borg two-parter where Picard becomes a Borg and they nearly take-out Earth is one of the best two-parters in T.V. history. Such a cliffhanger ending on that first one, I remember being so jacked up, only to realize I had to wait until the following season to watch the next part.

Wimp...

Kidding....
Though I would say that most of the best TV shows ever made are dark and depressing. You're missing out
Breaking Bad, The Wire, Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead, etc.
I love dark stuff personally. It makes up a good 70% of the stuff I watch. I love more light hearted stuff too like Chuck or Almost Human (though I could see that show getting darker at some point), but the most fascinating TV to me are the ones that explore the darker side of life...but I digress

On another note, I'm gonna check out The Americans and Orphan Black tonight
So much good TV these days it's ridiculous, though I'm kind of over American Horror Story Coven. The show has gotten a bit too ridiculous and the plot seems to be heading no where with only two episodes left. Dissapointed

The Americans was the best new show last year IMO.

We started watching The Wire about a week ago. It's an HBO drama about cops and drug dealers. It's always a highly rated show on all the best of t.v.lists.

Watching through Veronica Mars for the second time. My wife loves this show & I enjoy it as well. Looking forward to the movie in March.

I'm with BD on this one. I really wanted to like BSG, but it was too depressing. I had to stop after nine or ten episodes.

Friday The 13th: The Series
This episode called "My Wife As A Dog" was simultaneously the creepiest and funniest episode of the series.
