Next time my nephew is watching CN & a commercial comes on for creepy crawlies or super soakers, I'll remember your data might've contributed to that

Re: Job Hunting - Lifestyle - Your Experience?
Well, they did in fact offer me the job & we should be finalizing everything Monday and a start date of February 3rd.
Will be handing in my resignation @ current job next week.
Here's to more free time, less stress, & no jerk of a boss. Adios.

Congrats man! I wish you the best in your new endeavor.
I almost had an exit interview with my current boss after my first presentation, and he seemed like the nicest guy until that. May have been a crappy motivational technique, but considering I also received emails from the head of HR and our CEO I took it seriously.
Never stop giving 100%.
Okay. Never stop giving 90%.

Agree Luke. Not turning in my resignation notice until my potential new job sends me an official offer letter/LOI.
Let's settle on 85% effort... lol.
My acquaintance who works at the company that made me an offer said it's an amazing atmosphere. Looking forward to that. We've had 75% turnover in mgmt within my current organization... terrible culture.

Congratulations. I wish you well. Remember, if you are happy the little income loss is totally manageable. Like Luke said, I wouldn't slack off on your current job until the new one is set in stone. I've been all but promised jobs in the past that ultimately didn't happen and would have been screwed had I started to act like I didn't care at my current job anymore.
Again, I'm glad you're making a move towards your happiness.

Appreciate that Frag.
Agreed... Ack, transfer to HR and hire us all. I will be the most productive cartoon watcher ever!

Smart man.Jagosaurus wrote: Not turning in my resignation notice until my potential new job sends me an official offer letter/LOI.
When I was hired for my director of e-commerce position my former boss (he retired this year) he called me up and simply said "When can you start?". As thrilled as I was I asked, "Well, as soon as possible. I'm sure you need to run a background check and have me tajke a drug test..." He cut me off with "Unless there is anything you want to tell me, just be here on Monday".
Come to think of it, I've never had to take a drug test for any of my many jobs.

Is it an integrator or an ISP?Jagosaurus wrote:I just interviewed for an Executive Sales Manager for a telecommunications/IT company.
As someone who has worked for both, at the same time, it is better to be on the integrator side when in sales. ISPs like to turnover sales teams like they are nothing. Small business and residential sales reps have an average lifespan of a few months at most. Not meaning to rain on your parade, but just giving you piece of my reality. Also if you are on the ISP side, expect your reps to know nothing when it comes to networking or telephony. It will be easier that way.
As for my Job hunting:
If I am employed I check Linkedin and other job sites daily.
If I am unemployed my job is to get a job, so I do it for 8-9 hours a day. The last time this happened I sent out over 100 applications a day. I eventually got a hiring manager so fed up with me that he asked me to come into his office for an interview (which he was planning on chewing me out at), but after an hour long interview he hired me to sell for him.

@billy, integration: phone systems, video conferencing, video security, security systems, cabling, networking, & wireless... working with any existing equipment, starting new builds, & coordinating with ISPs.
I basically am going to get paid to geek out, network, & finalize deals. I'm pretty excited. Done deal, I start March 3rd (next round of training).
