18 hours into FF1 (PSX Origins port). Man, long dungeons, little direction. Definitely feels old school but I'm having fun.

The NPCs are very vague in their "directions." I had to look up on game FAQs that I had to go feed that Titan rock man in the cave the ruby in order to get to the Sage's cavern. I was wondering around Terra cavern for hours looking for another ruby after I defeated the vampire

Very impressive that some people beat this game so quick. I'm just now about to get the Earth crystal (1st of 4).

I'm about two hours into Shining the Holy Ark and enjoying it. Not really familiar with the dungeon crawler RPG so it's been a bit of a change of pace. Probably does need more save points though.

Just entered some castle dungeon/ruins and got merked by what looked like a disgruntled pokemon in a dress so I might have to stay close to the save point and level up for a bit. Don' want to struggle through and get destroyed by the boss and have to do over.

You can tell these guys went on to make Golden Sun, the music and art direction just scream "Camelot".

Have you played the earlier Shining Force games? You can see the Camelot stuff there as well. I remember when I first played Golden Sun and the Yes/No icons popped up. That's when I looked up Camelot and found they were ex-Sega devs.

Just got to the adult Link part of OoT, game is just very fun to play. I've had to consult a walkthrough for a couple of things, like getting to the boss in the Dodongo Cave. I was trying to toss a bomb in the eye sockets from the platform and it wasn't working, didn't realize you needed to go to the bridge above!

I also got to the Adult Link era in OoT for 3DS. And I just beat Daduluma in Final Fantasy VI. My playing sessions have been a bit on and off for awhile.

I briefly played a bit of Shining in the Darkness and Shining Force 1 on the Ultimate Megadrive collection, but that was before I got Golden Sun. What's weirder is the music is also taking me back to Mario Golf and memories of my brother kicking my ass with DK. The shop music in particular has that camelot sound. Can't quite describe it, like a synth merry-go-round or something.

Beat the Water Temple! I got stuck here when I played before, but this time I just blazed through no problem, no guide. Not sure what the deal was before. Apparently I needed the glowing lines they added to the 3DS version.

Well, add me to the list of those of you who love RPG's but almost never get around to finishing them :(.

I'll play an RPG in Japanese(trying to learn the language but dont know it yet aside from what katakana and hiragana symbols stand for so far...)

I have started Dragon Quest VII in japanese so I guess I am now in progress there...

I have started Final Fantasy VIII and am on Disc 1...I like it a bit so I will be putting some time into it. I am playing the american version burned onto discs as I have the JP version but the anti mod block prevents me from playing it so I figure its ok as I own the game just in a diff language.

Until I can buy the legit games I burned Tales of destiny Directors Cut so I have started that and love it and need to get back to it.

I recently got a japanese only action RPG by Squaresoft called Soukaigi. Sadly one of their poorer made games but I am going to put effort into it for sure.

I also started running from my PS2 HDD Final Fantasy X International until I get the real disk. making good progress there as im a good 10-14 hours in so far.

The final game I am playing slowly is Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories. I am playing the JP version as it came w/ my copy of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and I prefer to play real game discs if I can.

Those are the main games I am playing currently. I really hope to find some games that would be more fun to play so I can start some others. I will try and keep this updated. I think this forum is good to have as we can all contrast and compare w/ each other and see where everyone's priority's and likes/dislikes/progress lies.

Take it easy and have a good one everyone!!
