Some 2D shmups and plarformers would be small enough to put on flash, but a lot of games would be awfully big to make anything convenient even if you could make it work.

I think the bigger problem with this is that those flimsy cart slots are likely to die long before any of the lasers.
Well if you designed the cart so it goes in and then you can swap out SD or CF cards, well it probably could work. What is the bus speed on the cart slot?

I'll be "that guy." Keep in mind a couple games did have game data (ROM not RAM) stored on the SS carts. System pulled game data from the disc & cart. One of the KoF games had a ROM cart, won't work with other RAM carts bc of this.
