25 hours into Ar tonelico: Melody of Elemia, on Phase 2.
Game has really picked up for me at the end of Phase 1, feel like my characters are actually strong and i can enjoy myself more.

Is it supposed to take that long to get 2 badges?alienjesus wrote:Working through Pokémon Y.

Re: RPG Progress Report
It seems that way. I haven't gotten to the second Gym yet and my Pokémon are in the range of 18-22. My progress has been first badge, large city, small town, another town which so far doesn't seem to have a gym. It feels like rather than the older games front loading several of the badges before the storyline kicks in and puts big gaps between gyms that they're trying to space things out in general.Violent By Design wrote:Is it supposed to take that long to get 2 badges?alienjesus wrote:Working through Pokémon Y.

For what it's worth, I'm outside gym 6 now and the last few have been a bit closer together. The gap between gym 1 and 2 is huge though.
Also, my team is a MUCH higher level than they would have been by gym 6 in the other games. They range from level 46-50. I normally beat the games at a lower level than that.
My team now:
Chesnaught, level 48 - Seed Bomb, Low Sweep, Bite, Spiky Sheild
Floette, level 49 - Moonblast, Magical Leaf, Nature Power, Wish
Doublade, level 48 - Iron Head, Shadow Sneak, Swords Dance, Aerial Ace
Helioptile, level 50 - Thunderbolt, Surf, Volt Switch, Thunder Wave
Tyrantrum, level 49 - Crunch, Earthquake, Dragon Claw, Strength
Charizard, level 46 - Flame Shot, Slash, Dig, Fly
Re: RPG Progress Report
Yeah, I'm at about the same point as you. As you mentioned, after the second it turns into a more standard distance between gyms. I've been having some fun with the Wonder Trade; any time I have a Pokémon that I don't need for breeding/leveling to fill out my Pokedex I send it on the Wonder Trade, and keep sending anything I get back away unless I need to breed it/level it to get other forms. I've gotten some pretty nice things from it, including a Charmander (Bulbasaur was the starter I choose).

Re: RPG Progress Report
The game is even easier than most pokemon games thanks to the new Exp.share mechanics.
I'm regretting training Charizard too. Mega Charizard Y so thoroughly breaks the game it is ridiculous. Even as my lowest level team member (still a few levels higher than the gym leader mind) he completely destroyed the electric gym single handedly thanks to his massive sp.att and drought ability - and he's supposedly weak to electric type.
He often destroys water types using flame shot too. It's just silly.

Re: RPG Progress Report
I decided to try Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside story. It's cute, but it's just way too easy. I've only played for a few hours, so, for those who have finished this game, how much does the difficulty ramp up and how soon? I don't want to spend much longer steamrolling this game.

Final Fantasy 1 (origins remake on PSX) - 3h 45m in & at level 6. Really enjoying it.
Tales of the Abyss (3DS) - 25 hours in. Great game just taking.a break & going to focus on FF for a bit.

Re: RPG Progress Report
I just lost an hour of progress in Hexyz Force due to a corrupted save file. How'd that happen?
It's probably my memory stick. A 4GB offbrand from Deal Extreme. Got it for $8 in 2008, so no wonder! Surprised it lasted this long. I also have a 256MB name brand stick, so I can play physical games just fine.
I've been smart enough to back up all my save games to my PC, so I'll just do one final back up and all my files will be safe.
My Hexyz Force is digital, so I won't be able to continue until I buy a new stick or buy a PS Vita. What to do...
