I emailed Hyperkin support asking for clarification as to whether or not they will support Flash Carts. They declined to answer because Flash Carts are a grey area and borderline illegal. Basically they referred me to an interview where they were asked the same question and they said what I just repeated.

However, if Flash Carts work, I will be super happy.

Yup. You can change the output to 4:3 or 16:9 in the menu.

For 32X games? Maybe. If not out of the box then perhaps with a firmware update. I'd like to hear more about it as well.

For the 32X itself it's impossible since there would be nowhere to hook the 32X's video cable into the Retron 5.

I hope they fixed the whole problem with having to fight the system to get your cart out. I had used my Retron 1 about 3 or 4 times before the pins started coming up.

I'm impressed that Hyperkin engineers went out of their way to re-design the Retron 5 so that it accommodates Power Base Convertor. Bravo!

I just ebay'd a PBC. Wow, when did these grow so expensive?

I'd like to see before and after pics showing how the design of the Retron 5 has changed.
