You know I might as well ask this question does anybody still play LAN enabled original Xbox games on tunneling software? I know there are still Halo and halo 2 games going but any game that has system link capabilities can work through the tunneling software. What I wouldn't give to play some Soldiers of Fortune 2, Crimson Skies, and deathrow again good times.

How much do you estimate the whole collection cost you? As far as complete collections go I would imagine oXbox would be on the cheaper end of mainstream systems, though I'm sure it was still pretty expensive.

Re: Any xbox and xbox 360 collecors out there...........
I'll take a baseline approach for a complete black label set not counting the special editions each game is worth in the range 4-5$ CIB. It comes out to roughly $4300 now add another 400 to 500 to compensate the more rare and highly sought after games then now we are at 4800. Adding the special editions are rather tricky and can have a large range but a conservative estimation would be to tack on another 1000. So IMO I would value my complete US set with special editions at $5800 and give or take hundred more or less.
Of course I didn't spend that but I did dropped in closer to $1800 in expenditures so not bad. And yeah I have both the 1st printing green buttons and 2nd printing blue buttons of steel battalion. I think the original Xbox with regards to the others is not as highly sought after so you can build a collection rather cheaply and quickly.
The hardart will be tracking down the special and limited edition of Xbox games as in most times had short print runs and sold poorly so finding them in the wild is a tough experience. But for me I love collecting for the Xbox and still play system link games so it was a no brained for me.

Right here.
The original XBox was my favorite console last-gen (wait, 2 gens ago now?). Best hardware that gen, it had that nifty hard-drive, DVD-compatible, usually the best version of multiplats, and some great exclusives (especially in the action-RPG department). Back when it was new, I even used it as a personal jukebox player, putting my favorite CDs on the hard-drive.
But my collection pales in comparison to the OP's. I thought it was pretty impressive, but, nah. And because PS2 games have been so dirt cheap the last few years, A LOT of multiplatform games I ended up getting on it instead.
Here's what I have in my Original XBox collection:
I do like my XBox 360, but I haven't really "collecting" for it, yet. I've just been getting a few games that interest me here and there. I generally don't really start "collecting" for a system until the prices goes down. So now is about the time to start. And I also have a Wii, so I'm also buying games for it.

Bumping this thread up before it gets lost in the shuffle. Been too busy playing Scarface and GTA V to post recent xbox collecting stuff. But I will get around to it.
Re: Any xbox and xbox 360 collecors out there...........
I've tried to resist putting much into Xbox, but they're sure cheap enough.

It comes down to the quality of the exclusives for me - unfortunately, there are only a handful. The vast, vast, vast majority of the library is crap, with the exception of maybe 15-20 games. It's still cool to see a large collection of limited-release games though!theclaw wrote:I've tried to resist putting much into Xbox, but they're sure cheap enough.

I have 32 oXbox games, none of which are crap. And I'm not a fan of racing or sports games, so there's even more I'm not even bothering with.Retrogamer0001 wrote:It comes down to the quality of the exclusives for me - unfortunately, there are only a handful.
