You keep ignoring the fact that most of the copies that were first found in stores were undoubtedly new copies that were just unwrapped and put on shelves used so they could have an higher price. Meaning they pulled/sat on new copies of the game. The rest is irrelevant.

i question how "undoubtedly new" those copies were. why not just sell the new sealed copies for $120 or something if what you claim was true happened?

Would a chain like GS be allowed to mark up new items above the MSRP?

Once it is no longer classified as new (aka plastic off as it seems they may be doing), they can sell it for whatever they please.

It's what CRTGAMER said. They can't order more new copies, so the New SKU gets deleted (or something) and remaining stock gets converted to the Used SKU.

Not a new thing. I remember getting shrinkwrapped games in as Used when I worked at Software Etc in 2000-2001.
