Thank you so much for the advice.SpoonyBard wrote:If you're in no urgency to sell, i'd wait and see when another one pops up on eBay and check it out (especially if it's an auction). The only one to sell in recent history was in June, in similar condition, for $400. It was a buy it now listing though.but I wouldnt consider anything under $1000 for that CIB

You would also most likely get the most selling on nintendoage. They have some serious NES collectors there. Just make sure you have a price in mind as some will try to lowball.

I see that someone has been making reproduction boxes, so this may have lowered demand a bit. That $400 BIN was a mistake for sure. They could have got much more.
Now seeing the punched hang tab here, I would say that the game loses some value. Post it on NA with those photos, clarify that it is not a reproduction box, and let the offers come in. I'm sure you will hit $800 at some point.

Less fees (PayPal only versus eBay fees too) selling on a forum, but frequent users are cautious to buy from new members. You may encounter a buyer wanting you to ship it first. If it an established member of racket boy or Nintendo Age, you'll be fine, just check their feedback & how long they've been on the site. Generally speaking, much better place to do business as collectors are a tight knight group. And good luck on your sale, impressive item.
Not directed at you particularly but more at my "cautious" comment... I found it odd you didn't know about the box but you knew about 5 screw NES games. See we're defensive like that lol.

I do not take any umbrage about your being skeptical by what knowledge I do have.Jagosaurus wrote:Less fees (PayPal only versus eBay fees too) selling on a forum, but frequent users are cautious to buy from new members. I have sold some (apparently) lesser Video Games on eBay and looked at past "sold/completed" items for guidance--and noticed similar items to mine as being 3 or five screw. That seemed to be important and was fairly easy to discern...until I tried to research with google "key" words/images and found little to nothing about this Donkey Kong Jr Math I have. Only a got a clue once I was cautioned to not sell it willy-nilly. It was then I came here because I cannot afford to make a stupid mistake.

Again, not directed particularly @ you, just giving you insight to the skepticism you'll encounter.
A new account tried to sell NES little Sampson ($450+ game) recently & was met with much doubt. You may run into some of that & be asked to ship first. Again, don't be frightened of this if it's with an established member.
Good luck man.

Thank you for your input; it's much appreciated. I realize how important these issues are to passionate enthusiasts. Didn't mean to intrude or annoy or disrupt the "flow" so to speak...just seeking some insight, for which I am grateful.Jagosaurus wrote:Again, not directed particularly @ you, just giving you insight to the skepticism you'll encounter.

Not intruding. I'm newer to this site compared to most. I'm not a forum snob. Just been around video game enthusiast for some time & know how we think:]

LOL...I'd feel the same if you wandered into my usual Bailiwick.Jagosaurus wrote:Not intruding. I'm newer to this site compared to most. I'm not a forum snob. Just been around video game enthusiast for some time & know how we think:]
Admittedly, I'm no long-time video game enthusiast...just the Mom of a (briefly) game-playing daughter who needs to assess what's of any value now that I'm getting ready to move.
