Storage advice?

Since you have more cord going on and moved stuff around, try to make sure that video cables aren't sitting right next to power bricks.

Would that cause interference? The switcher boxes are now sitting on top of my tv since the cables are to short to be on the floor...oh and I moved all those games off of there too so theres nothing but the cords on there. Is it because it's on top of the tv or something...?

Oh yeah, get the switch boxes off the TV. I bet if you pick them up and move them around you'll see the interference start shifting. If it is a CRT especially it can interefere, as can the power bricks and anything with a motor like a fan or power tools.

Well what do you know...ya learn something new everyday. I'll try finding a better spot for them tomarrow and see if it helps. Thanks :3

So I moved them off the TV and as far away from anything I could...still getting the waves. Maybe it's because they were cheaply made?

I store all my cables, controllers, & power supplies in bankers boxes (file boxes). They are extremely sturdy, compact, cheap (or free from work lol), & easy to stack in closets.

Not that I can think of...I'm sure theres wires in that wall but it's nothing hugely high powered. And because i'm the only one on the top floor of the house (for now) and because that wall is also the stairwell wall...I doubt it's a big appliance. The only thing I can think of is my PC. But that's on the other wall...well behind the other wall. It's in a room attached to my room so I don't think it's to blame.

Funny you bring up closets...I don't have one lol. I gave that up to be able to have a PC room, it was worth it!

I could get those cloth cubby pull out baskets and put under my media center...there's enough space down there that idk what to do with. Might as well use it for storage.

All right so I finally got around to getting some card pages and a cassette drawer. So that's solved my gameboy game issue and my loose genesis carts. But it's brought a different issue up. Storing my Atari 2600 and 5200 carts.

I know that the 2600 had a storage tower thing (at least I'v seen some in pictures around the internet) but I doubt I'll find something like that at a yard sale. So how do you guys store your 2600 and 5200 carts? I could shove em in a plastic bin like I used to use but I want something that looks nicer now that I have a cassette drawer.

How many do you have and how often do you play them? To be quite honest, I just set them on top of each other like this...



...but I don't have an Atari so I don't pull them out that often

13 2600 carts and 7 5200 carts. I don't have a 5200 actually, just the 2600 and I don't play it very often. I suppose I could just stack them but...idk looks cluttered unless you have a whole shelf of them.
