here's what they told me last week:
Once we have a set and firm release date, we can then schedule our interview then. We are optimistic in having the RetroN 5 released toward the end of Summer, but realistically, it may take a little bit longer, so I will keep you updated on the status of the RetroN 5.

Relax. I'm sure they'll release more information when they have it. I was hoping for an early August release date myself, but realistically we probably won't see it until Fall.
I say that, but I recently freaked out because I hadn't heard anything from Reticon in months. Then the day after the released a statement saying there was an emergency and everything's back on track. Kinda made me feel silly about worrying about such things.
I was hoping it would be out before I move later this summer so I could store away my consoles until I have the room to bring them with me but that doesn't look like it's happening.
Saves states is huge. No more worrying about cart batteries. Saving in dungeons on most RPGs isn't allowed either unless using save states. Big plus for RPG fans.
so I am definitely planning on getting one of these at some point. I really like the idea of condensing console space (my current Cube is a dedicated GBPlayer). Plus, it would give me a reason to keep a NES & SNES hooked up in my game room.
Couple of thoughts...
I wonder if Power Base Converter or 32X could work with this thing? If so, that's more consoles being condensed.
I wonder how come you never see any of these kind of consoles w/ 2600 support?
