Awesome news. I'd still like to own the original cartridge, but I'll definitely be picking this up when I buy a Wii-U. I'm still skeptical buying digital content from Nintendo though. They seem like they have no idea what the Internet is or how to use it.

I'd definitely prefer account based digital content from Nintendo instead of it being tied to the system. Man, if I ever lose my 3DS I am boned. Unless they decide to help me out because all my purchases are tied to my Club Nintendo account.jinx wrote:Awesome news. You are right about the 3DS. You'd have to jump through quite a few hoops to get your stuff back.ZenErik wrote:I'd definitely prefer account based digital content from Nintendo instead of it being tied to the system. But for Wii U there is an account system.
I mean, I can sign into it here:

It's just that it can only be active on one system at a time. (as opposed to my PSN being allowed on two PS3's at a time.) This is of course still quite flawed, but this would make it much easier to call up Nintendo and have them "deactivate" one system and "activate" your account on another should something terrible happen. Hopefully they'll implement a way to deactivate your NNID either on your console or online like Sony does in the future.
They've also said Miiverse is coming to 3DS at some point, so I'd see there being no way that could happen without your NNID being implemented on it as well.
Baby steps I guess? *shrugs*

Trying give gamers another incentive to buy the hardware IMO.noiseredux wrote:still trying to figure out why Wii/3DS VC can't also get this...

Yea. I am aware of NNID's. I do have a WiiU. And at one point I had games for it. Just haven't had any games for it for the past 4+ months now.CavZee wrote:You are right about the 3DS. There have been rumors of NNID's being implemented on the 3DS for a while. Wonder when it will actually happen.

I've used it a little bit and it's pretty neat. Imagine if this became a trend for future VC releases. Doubtful, but it'd be cool to see.

I am stoked to be playing this on a Nintendo console. I didn't play it until the mid 2000's on a softmodded Xbox, but it's become one of my favorite games. You can feel the love put into this game, as well as its sequel.
