N64 support, but that's not legally possible yet.
N64/NES/FC/SNES/SFC/GB (SGB)/GBC (Black)(SGB)/FDS/Satellaview/Genesis/Mega Drive/Master System & maybe N64DD/GBC/GBA.

Now that you mention it...

Utility patents expire after twenty years. The N64 launched in 1996 (or 97 in some countries) so we may see N64 clones start to roll onto the grey market in another three years.

Playstation launched in 1994 in Japan and 1995 everywhere else. We might see a Playstation clone even sooner, but SONY is not shy about calling lawyers.

The Jaguar and the 3DO launched 1993-1994, but are they even popular enough to warrant clones? Probably not.

I've heard of Chinese PC engine clones, but I've never seen a Turbografx 16 clone in the US.

Of course, I'm no lawyer. I don't know the first darn thing about patent law, and I admit my ignorance.

Gotta also take into account whether the cartridge pin things would be available for N64, as they sure aren't for Master System, Game Gear & Atari at the moment.

Exactly, I read in an interview that theyre interested in Sega SMS & GG but currently no one is manufacturing the pin receivers for the hardware to take carts.

Hopefully someone will see the value in this & begin manufacturing them.

This system has my attention. Many factors from aspect ratio, HD or SD, save states, imports, & convenience.

An Atari 2600/5200/7800 clone system would be killer. 2600 and 7800 use the same pins.

May as well through the JAG in.

If these were $100 each and had the same kind of features that the Retron 5 will have, I'd happily buy separate machines for Sega carts (SMS/GEN/GG), Nintendo carts (NES/SNES/GB/GBC/GBA...N64?), and Atari carts (2600/5200/7800...Lynx? Jag?).

I wonder what it would take to create a disc based system like this that played, for example, SCD/SAT/DC games? That would be some cool shit.

I've always thought that would be the coolest console ever.

You'd need two cartridge slots for the Sega CD/Saturn RAM back-ups. And different controller ports for each for the three consoles. Could get pretty complicated.

Not if it were software based.

Any disc-based hardware clone is going to have to have a reverse-engineered BIOS too, which could bring its own issues.

Try factory resetting your TV. Use a search engine to find the remote combo, usually something like up on the menu + power on TV.

HDMI ports have auto-read & always on functionality. Good chance resetting might fix it. Or trying switching to the other option.

If all else fails, call Vizio. My 2008 Sony was acting funny, turns out it needed a firmware update. Not being an internet ready TV, they mailed me a USB with update on it.

Hopefully ur issue is software/firmware/setting related.
Well hot damn that worked. Now i need a retron 5,THANKS for the heads up.

Great! Did u reset it or install firmware update.

My Sony bravia was blinking uncontrolled intermitly. Did tons of research on TV software lately. Fixed my issue after lots of trial & error. My auto-ambient light adjust was malfunctioning (didn't know my unit had this @ all) Turned that option off, fixed issue 100%! We saved both our HDTVs this weekend lol.

Good to hear u can use it again for the Retron 5. Eventually other HDMI systems (ps3, etc) will drop way down & that HDMI will be useful.
